I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture of Best Buy is a great culture itself but it is nothing in comparison to Geek Squad. Having fun while being the best is what they are all about.

    Cons

I was not a fan of working holidays and weekends. I was happy to find a role outside of the retail hours and not have to work Q4 retail craziness.

    Advice to Management

Management was great at listening but the ratios they used for merit or equity increases didn't compare very well to what they could have done.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working in the computer field is a great job. As a CA you get daily training and updates on the latest information regarding your job which is to check in computers for the ARA and to do minor repairs. We work as a team and have a family atmosphere at my location. Great place to work.

    Cons

Finding good people to fill the open vacancies. The bulk of our applicants are college students with limited computer knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to your employees who actually do the work and help them make it a better working environment. Look for more women applicants who are willing to learn the trade.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits, fantastic employee discount.

    Cons

Absolutely understaffed. Where I worked, our front and back of precinct had a grand total of 4 people, which resulted in several employees having to work 10+ hour shifts several days in a row. As a student, I needed part time hours, but in the end they scheduled me 40+ hours a week, which was absolutely unsustainable.

I have been working at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, laid back work environment, nothing very technical required.

    Cons

Retail job, so retail hours and retail customers are part of it.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of room to grow and advancement within the company!

    Cons

Low pay and managers take to long to deal with bad employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen too your employees when it comes to their co workers.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent work environment, awesome discount, decent benefits for full-time employees, great company for a career if you can get through the politics.

    Cons

Politics ruin everything. Mandatory overnight shifts every so often for product inventory, traces of favoritism are clear.
