I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The team environment is something that is extremely important at Best Buy and they can feel like a second family. Everyone is supportive of one another along with helping you learn the products as long as you are willing and able.

    Cons

The customers can be a tad rude sometimes but it is retail.

    Advice to Management

Management is good! Always pushing their associates a step further to help better the business and themselves.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a really fun and friendly environment with excellent training and a positive team geeling.

    Cons

No real work life balance, management seems to believe that work is or should be everyone's first priority. Severely understaffed and this causes stress. Also customers seem to feel that we are a free repair service when they break their devices and if we can not help or if the damage is beyond our abilities then some get angry and will become abusive.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Knowledge on the latest technologies, discounts, and a workplace of peers if you are in your 20s.

    Cons

High pressure to hit sales goals in a non-commissioned company. If you're a woman, prepare for some customers to turn you down for a man's help. Sad but true.

    Advice to Management

Better incentives to bring customers in the store. Online orders free in store, etc.

    Pros

Perks of the job were great and hours were available during the holiday season

    Cons

Your hourly revenue is tracked much like a commission based position which can get annoying.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sells fun stuff, has great systems and structures in place m.

    Cons

Losses have required reductions in resources, way beyond driving efficiency. This has hurt their customer service model and made it harder to attract the best talent.

    Advice to Management

You can't cut payroll back to profitability, you've gotta find a way to drive margin, get back to resonable staffed stores.

    Pros

A lot of fun technology to work with. Nice environment with an even keeled work pace. Good work life balance and relatively good pay and benefits.

    Cons

Constantly going through re-organizations which pretty much meant you could end up without a job, or that specific role at any given time. Time off requests were like pulling teeth. Somewhat of a challenge to be a woman in this environment. It's a boys club even though the job is about knowledge and expertise, nothing else.

    Advice to Management

spend less time out of your offices and away from your cell phones and computers, and more time on the floor with your employees and customers.

    Pros

Nice break room, good team, if your store is great at hitting budget and getting bonuses then you will love your paychecks, but my store never hit budget and we never got bonuses and when we did it was like 5 dollars. Discount is nice

    Cons

Customer Recommendation Worksheets are useless and the company hounds you to use them....makes the customer experience long and drawn out and sometimes customer get frustrated and are wondering why you are even taking notes on what they are saying instead looking them in the eyes while they talk. The customers throw those worksheets away anyway so its pretty much a big waste of time. They hound you for credit and it has a commission feel to it....even though you dont make anything off of what you sell. They hound you also if you don't make your "rev" goal. To much pressure from upper management for a job that pays alright.....now i know why the turnover right is high and they are constantly hiring

    Advice to Management

Stop breathing down your workers necks...make them comfortable and they will stay
