I enjoy the management and the team that I work for. Everyone is nice and easy to get along with.
I believe they try to hard to make it seem like it is a big time job. Checking in with your sales numbers for the week and month seems like a waste of time because it is a low level job.

Positive outlook, enterprise is more focused on customer, collaboration is improving, teams making better decisions for customer and business, more consistent and long term visions from leaders, team goals align with company strategy for short and long term. Campus amenities; there is a bank, atms, dry cleaning, cafeteria, coffee shop
Difficult to find meetings rooms during business hours 9-4, too heavily reliant on consultants and has outsourced most IT and engineering roles. IT and Security IT operate completely isolated from business causing many problems; impairing tools and business results. Have a problem with company provided computers/software? It’s normal to wait in a line of people with similar problems for hours only to additionally wait weeks to get your issue looked and get resolved. It’s common to have high turnover in some areas because lack of career opportunities for certain fields (not because the work isn’t needed) but because it’s already been given to consultants or lots of local companies pay more competitively for certain skills. These situations create talent chasms that are difficult to fill. Lack of telecommuting/flexible work schedule that many local companies offer.

I have worked for the Best Buy Warehouse in Woodridge, IL for 10 years.
The first 5 years was wonderful.
Best Buy was great at showing their employees appreciation:
We would receive raises twice a year.
They would throw Holiday parties, with food and raffled gifts(TV’s/gift cards..)
Management would go out on the warehouse floor, greet and interact with the staff.
It was really a great place to be proud to work for.
Once, the Warehouse went under new management everything changed.
The company stopped raises completely over 3 years ago..
I was told that we would be getting a raise this year.
The family and I were pretty excited about it until we received my check.
The company that I have put my blood, sweat and time into, thought I was only worth 5 cents…
This company does not promote employees internally.
For years, Best Buy would promise employees promotions but then hire externally. (Leads, Supervisors and Managers)
I have been promised personally about 7 times over the 10 years..
Management treats their employees like they are replaceable objects.
You approach them with an issue or concern, it is brushed under the rug.
Recently, HR had a meeting with all the staff and congratulated the new employees on their $0.75 raise.
A few employees who have been at Best Buy as long as I have, approached HR about their $0.05 raise.
The HR Rep. just shrugged his shoulders and walked away..
I have a “go getter” personality and I love helping people.
So, when my Manager asked if I could go to Best Buy’s other warehouse and help out, I was delighted.
The Supervisor at that location appreciated the help and noticed my potential and knowledge of company.
A few days later, I was talking with that Supervisor and my Manager about a few things.
The Supervisor asked me if front of my Manager, if I would be interested in being his lead at the new warehouse.
Of course, I was like YES PLEASE!
Well, my Manager shot that down quick..
He said that ”I was his best picker and he couldn’t afford to lose me on the floor.”
I was speechless, what company would hold their own employees back from success?
Of course, there is much much more I could talk about..
I just pray that, those of you interested in this company, please take my review into consideration.

Know that while lessons learned about flexible work space may sour your thoughts about providing your employee flexibility - there should be the possibility for a valued employee to be trusted in flexible schedules.

Great team. Easy to learn. Good experience. Amazing employee discounts.
Schedules change to much. Even as a full timer expect different times a dates each week. Theres no sense of stability. Then again; is retail.

There are a lot of young, energetic, like minded people who work for the conpany. It is like an extended family and very easy to find friends.
The pay is not competitive. Managment displays favoritism, hypocrisy, and lack of concern for the employees personal scehdule whether in college or elsewhere. Loud extroverts are favored over knowledgeable introverts.At the store I worked for in particular one woman slept her way into management and hr turned a blind eye.
Advice to Management
Rethink some of the culture within mangment. Happy employees perform better.
Pay, around electronics, co workers are fantastic and management is great!
Customers, learning alot of new tech.

Amazing coworkers, great customers, having fun while being the best, dedication.
The only con for me is the maternity leave and paternity leave policies as well as how hourly employees earn vaca vs. salaried employees.
Advice to Management
Take a look at what you values you would like your employees to have and support then better. Aavailability policies for leadership prevent church and leave polices hold employees back from enjoying new family members. Continue to recognize performance and drive profitable results.
Grow within a respected organization and build great relationships with peers and customers.
Work life balance was very difficult especially during the holidays
