I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great development if you work with your leaders on it.

    Inside and outside training available.

    Really care about their employees.

Some of the best benefits in the industry from healthcare to financial advisors to family planning.

Corporate is very hands on in developing the company in a great way based on customer service.

    Holiday pay is great.

Non commissioned in most sales positions but great bonuses if you hit goals.

    Cons

Every store runs quite a bit differently, management per store really controls how the store feels and operates.

PTO when first becoming full time is unbearable low.

    Advice to Management

Employees need a way to better understand how they are impacting he company and that what they are doing is actually helping the company progress. Employees seem to lose motivation due to not understanding the growth of the company.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers made the job pleasant, leadership was willing to work with associates in advancing. There were also video games in the break room

    Cons

Oftentimes communication was lacking, so you'd have 3 different managers or supervisors telling you to do a task, and you're expected to complete them all

I have been working at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

The company will train you really well before you get to the sales floor. Also if you decide you want to move up in the company, they will work with you to help you in your career path. Also, they have a really flexible scheduling for people that may be in school.

    Cons

It may suck getting used to a job where you have to work together as a team to bonus, instead of commission, because you may have to pick up somebody's slack on the sales floor.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the constant changing of technology and the need to learn about new products on a regular basis. Great incentives if you have a decent team. Hubert Joly has done tremendous things with the company. One of the best things I received was an all expenses paid trip to Puerto Rico for being one of the top sales people. It was hard work but well worth it for the trip.

    Cons

My pay did not reflect the amount of work I put into the job. A lot of younger people worked in my specific store, which typically led to unnecessary drama.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employee veterans better. Start by paying workers accordingly, the hardest worker shouldn't be paid less because of sexuality. They should also be compensated when new employees start off making more than someone who had worked there for years. Turn over might be better if you cared more for the hard working veteran employees.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The employee discount and accommodations are of course going to be some of the best things even though on some popular things it's not really much. It's also easy to move up.

    Cons

It's very numbers driven and the managers will shout out the sales numbers every 30 minutes even though sales don't get commission and they will ask why you didn't hit yours goals if you don't

    Advice to Management

Make it so that the employees who care get paid more

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Personal satisfaction from helping people with their technology-related problems

    Cons

Preferential treatment for employees who are best at tricking people into signing up for credit cards.

    Advice to Management

Realize that your business comes from your employees who take care of your customers the right way, not just the ones who lie to them for credit card signups
