I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great development if you work with your leaders on it.

    Inside and outside training available.

    Really care about their employees.

Some of the best benefits in the industry from healthcare to financial advisors to family planning.

Corporate is very hands on in developing the company in a great way based on customer service.

    Holiday pay is great.

Non commissioned in most sales positions but great bonuses if you hit goals.

    Cons

Every store runs quite a bit differently, management per store really controls how the store feels and operates.

PTO when first becoming full time is unbearable low.

    Advice to Management

Employees need a way to better understand how they are impacting he company and that what they are doing is actually helping the company progress. Employees seem to lose motivation due to not understanding the growth of the company.

I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

Just being around technology all the time and interacting with customers about it really never gets boring.

    Cons

The pay is relatively low in contract to the amount of work you do as a part timer. Its most likely more worth it as a full timer.

    Pros

12$ base pay for a seasonal sales position is good pay, employee discount only really matters on best buy brands like insignia and geek squad.

    Cons

If you can't sell a credit card or protection plans your not going to have fun.

    Advice to Management

Depends on store mine is fine, just think in whole they push BBY credit cards,GSP plans, and other bonuses really hard.

I have been working at Best Buy as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you love tech in general, its great to work here. You get to recommend products to people, and suggest accessories to go with them. The work environment is stellar, there's no beef between anybody in the work place and everybody helps each other out on sales. If you have questions and are having a hard time learning the ropes supervisors and co workers are mostly happy to help. You gain a lot of experience on the sales floor and develop social skills tailored toward selling products, it's punishing at times but you really do learn a lot.

    Cons

Quotas. I personally have no problems with them, but I can see beginners having an issue with that sort of thing. You'll have a revenue per hour that you'll need to fulfill, you need to sign up customers for credit cards, and you need to offer Geek Squad Protection with as many devices as possible. Literally the only intimidating thing here is remembering this in the back of your head for every sale because not hitting your quotas is what ultimately decides whether you stay or not.

    Pros

Good money and benefits, love my co-workers, development opportunities, fun and fast paced.

    Cons

Work every weekend and holidays, the younger employees are social butterflies so we have to keep them on their toes a lot

    Advice to Management

    Keep it professional
