    Pros

    - the pay is higher than average
    - a strong sense of team involvement is (almost) mandatory
    - there is plenty to be gained in terms of knowledge and experience at Best Buy

    Cons

    - very little down time for most of the entry level jobs (constant work)
    - the "culture" at Best Buy can almost make you feel as if you were part of a cult
    - there are numerous online tests you are required to take fairly often
    - you can't earn commissions

    Advice to Management

Overall, the company is still in business for a reason so I suppose you guys are doing something right. The only thing that I would suggest is to lower the prices on certain GSBTP plans as they often insult the customers by clearly being too high.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Co-workers are great people.
    Opportunity for Overtime.
    Very Good amount of PTO.

    Cons

Pay is awful, I was with this company for around 4 years, I was one of the top mobile employees in the company... After 3 years, I was given a total raise of less than $1 (this was my yearly increase for all 3 years combined) my fourth year I left before my raise was due to increase again.
The company removed the reward program, and never pays any form of commission.
They pay new employees with no experience much more than employees who have been with the company several years.
After my third year I was supposed to become a manager, however, they played favorites at my store and they hired someone from a completely different store without interviewing anyone (several people including myself had wanted to interview for this position).
The manager they hired from the other store verbally belittled his employees in front of customers, and other employees, customers even wrote about it in the customer service surveys, when this was brought to managements attention (3 surveys from different customers all stating the same thing) Nothing was done about it.
Turnover at my store was extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Reform the company to be like it was 4 years ago.
    Stop playing favorites.
Screen your employees before promoting them, this way people don't end up with bad managers.

    Pros

Generous pay, tight-knit co-workers, great discount.

    Cons

Favoritism, unprofessional leadership, pressure to sell, high school type drama.

    Advice to Management

Less pressure and more coaching in regards to selling. More recognition and understanding for employees.

  6. "Beware of starting off as seasonal"

    Pros

The people in general are great to work with and easy to talk to. They were very understanding of my limited work availability since I work full time elsewhere.

    Cons

I was hired as a seasonal employee and was told after 3 months, if I liked the job and wanted to stay I could. However, after working there for almost a year as a seasonal employee, they decided to tell me I wouldn't be able to stay after the holiday season. They never gave me a review or went over anything with me, so I had no idea how I was doing within the department or what I could have improved on that may have helped me keep the job. During the end of my days there, I was constantly being asked to do things that were not part of the responsibilities in my department. Because I got stuck helping people in other departments, people in my department had to wait. During the end of the night, I was asked to help clean up other departments after I was done with mine, causing me to stay much later than I was scheduled.

    Advice to Management

Talk to employees and give more reviews.
