I worked at Best Buy Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits for full time, somewhat easy going for part timers. Flexible hours for part timers. Air conditioned as well.

    Cons

Best Buy has a results/commission oriented sales push, but offers no commission.
Depending on the store you work at, management may be poor.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees. Don't be fake with them and try to understand that they are people too.

I worked at Best Buy Canada part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

"HAVE FUN WHILE BEING THE BEST" - they want their employees to enjoy their job and have fun while they're at work. They pay well, and pretty much no one makes minimum wage.

    Cons

Same cons as other retail jobs, weird hours and flexibility required.

I worked at Best Buy Canada (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good for an in between job or for students. Minimum wage. Perfectly fine job. Can't really complain about my time there.

    Cons

Too much pressure on sales. Stupid "we need a rockstar" corporate faux family BS. Dumb cheers in morning meetings. Just another retail job you'll be hoping to quit eventually.

    Advice to Management

Cut the stupid cheers and faux "were a family" crap. It's a job. Nothing more nothing less. I don't care if it goes under or not, Best Buy shouldn't be someone's career.

    Pros

learned about sales, also how to read people.
learned how to be productive, and communicate with angry customers.
able to up-sale and promote out product.

    Cons

product are workable, however, they are not the best.
the service that best buy provide does have detailed differences.
the worker does not have much choice about their work time. Christmas eve starts at 0 am. At south common the management is pushy.

    Advice to Management

change the term and condition of the TTP. Since it is a Total protection plan, it should cover every every every little thing.

I have been working at Best Buy Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great employee discounts (about Cost + 5%) and on top of that Employee promotional plans from companies are excellent. Friendly staff/Co workers with a very welcoming environment. No cut throat or threatening competition.

    Cons

Non-commission pay, Unexpected lay offs and constant changes to management level. Company often changes/alters policies making it hard to keep track of them even for the employees.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism and employee cliques is something upper level management needs to keep an eye out for.
