    Pros

The atmosphere at my store is very rewarding for employees who meet and exceed the goals presented by the management teams. This is my second time with the company and I don't know why I ever left. Awesome leadership and ample opportunities to move up!

    Cons

Pay rate isn't enough to COMFORTABLY support a family of 3 it just barely scrapes by. Sometimes management can be bull-headed but they are willing to admit mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees and make sure to reward those who are working hard. Don't base merit off of sales or productivity alone.

    Pros

Best Buy is a great place to work for a college student to learn about technology while making good money. They have a great employee discount.

    Cons

It is very hard to advance into leadership role. Leadership position aren't always given to the person most capible of the job.

    Advice to Management

Create more leadership role for employees that want to move up and have shown their worth to the company. A lot of great talent has left the company for this reason alone.

    Pros

Great general knowledge of electronics, connections with fellow associates are generally very good, and most customer interactions are not compelling, but are very fun also. The employee discount is useful when its needed.

    Cons

Favoritism plagues the workplace, the people who do nothing and brown nose while the people who actually work hard get thrown to the wayside. Management is incompetent not only to their product that is in the store, but the employees that help make their bonuses possible as well. Lack of communication between departments is very common.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and actually do your job, we don't get paid to do our job and your job, so stop sitting on your butts and do something for a change. Also, hire somebody that actually does their jobs for once, or give the promotions to those who actually deserve it.

  6. "I liked working here, management made it difficult and they typically have unrealistic expectations"

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Benefits, and employee pricing. Opportunities to advance knowledge through Vendor partnerships.

    Cons

Management is usually a job decided by how well you party, they also misrepresent their enthusiasm about selling service plans and services. Managers get a bonus if monthly goals are met where line-level employees don't receive any reward for meeting monthly sales goals. Also Geek Squad is very unknowledgeable and typically uncertified. A job as a Geek Squad technician should definitely require some sort of certification.

    Advice to Management

Act like you care, and actually communicate with employees about SOP.
