    Pros

You are certain to come across dedicated, compassionate lifers within the company. The values and culture are very solid and if put top of priority will always surpass the competition. BBY is a leader in diversity and supporting many programs with regards to diversity. The are some great talent across the company.

    Cons

Unfortunately like many organizations there are several members of management that are improperly casted and tend to create a negative experience for those who report to them. BBY is a company that believes in restructure as opposed to performance management to rid the bottom dwellers. BBYis a segmented company, that needs to change cross discipline - all managers need to be able to speak to all areas of the buliding.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in a talent bench, some of the leaders that are in place now are because they are all thats left. This should never be the case. Make the investment, find the time and assign the right team to grow them. This will determine the future.

    Pros

Extremely focused on the customer. The values of the company are integrity driven. It's a very young company as far as management goes and the opportunities are endless if you're willing to work for them. I've never been treated differently because I am young or am a female. The atmosphere is fun and challenging and it's a great environment.

    Cons

Retail in general is hard to work because you work every holiday and every weekend unless you request it off. Customers don't always treat you with the respect you deserve but that's also anywhere you work.

    Advice to Management

Keep the recognition at the top of mind

    Pros

Great employee discount. Seems as if there is a lot of growth in the beginning; however, there is too much political involvement for advancement.

    Cons

Terrible work/life balance. Too many chiefs, not enough indians. Dist Staff is a waste of the companies labor.

    Advice to Management

Get lean around the expenses and how much DM's make. Those guys are making 100k + and are never in stores impacting anything. Spread that back down into the boxes and keep the GM's wages aggressive. They are the ones that can get it done for you.
