I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best Buy as a company is great to work for. I feel like they truly care about the well-being of the individual. The company is very connected, even from the corporate scale. Makes you feel truly valued by the company, even if you are just another person working in one of their stores across the country. They care about your growth, wellbeing, and ability to learn and progress through the company as well as through life.

    Cons

Of course no matter what branch of Best Buy you work for, whether it be a district phone hub, a brick and mortar store, geek squad services, corporate, at the end of the day each location you work for has its own strengths and weaknesses. For me, I loved Best Buy as a company, however at the end of the day, the people and the environment of my own workplace was what detracted me. Employees are different everywhere you go and this one just felt like a toxic work environment.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good discount, willing to work with your school schedule, always opportunities for training in other areas

    Cons

Best Buy management abuses its best employees and depends on them to keep the store running while the weaker employees who make the same pay are allowed to slack off and break the rules. Also, they are very impersonal. They have no empathy if you are having personal problems and dont acknowledge you as a human being; you’re just a warm body there to take care of their store. Management is super passive aggressive. I worked for the company for over 3 years and consistently met my goals each month and not one manager told me thank you for my work or even acknowledged me on my last day at the store. Oh, and I worked at two different locations and experienced same issues at both locations and have heard similar complaints from employees at various stores. It seems they all train management with the same approach/style.

    Advice to Management

    - take better care of your employees and treat them like humans
    - stop being so arrogant and acting like you’re better than your employees, this company is nothing without their dedication & labor
-promote employees who are actually hard workers and care about their job rather than those who just suck up to you

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discounts and accommodations were great

    Cons

    Condescending management
Management didn’t care about or acknowledge employee concerns
    DRAMA. ALL. THE. TIME.
O/S was always payed more than pt and sometimes even ft employees
They don’t want to see you move up in the company

    Advice to Management

Teach employees to be accountable, present new opportunities to employees and stop hiring kids to be managers because it creates tension and drama

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Overall just phenomenal leadership and supervision. The people really made the place here at this position and it was great being able to get to know each customer. I had no problem with pay and supervision was very accommodating with my work schedule.

    Cons

Like every retail job you'll have experiences with not-so-great customers but luckily I had my co-workers to carry me through the event.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Would still recommend having more bathroom stalls installed for each gender. Having one can be very painstaking at time.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is great. Most of my coworkers are below 30 so it is easier to relate to them since I am a college students.
The discount is awesome especially on insignia products and snacks.
They have pretty flexible scheduling so I am able to work around my school schedule.
Best Buy overall is a cool spot especially being able to see new tech before consumers do

    Cons

Customer service where I work can get very busy, very fast and we are tasked with dealing with customers who do not have basic manners.

Management is continuously pushing you to hit numbers that are near impossible (transactions per hours, protection plans, credit card).

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding of why some employees cannot hit certain store goals
