I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They treat employees very fairly. Recommendations go a long way and speaking upfront about what kind of hourly wage you're wanting to make can go a long way as well.

    Cons

It is a place that focuses on seasonal employment, so there is risk involved getting hired around that time period.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You meet and work with great people, ample PTO when full-time after 1 year, great experience kick starting a sales career. You learn about the new technologies evolving each and every day.

    Cons

Must work holidays and weekends, except Christmas and Easter. Favoritism can get you your desired days off every week, even if its against company policy. Compensation can be much much more considering how much profit you make this for company.

    Advice to Management

    Treat everyone equally.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary is fair but bonuses are not as promised. In initial training there is an opportunity to speak with upper leadership.

    Cons

Conditions can be poor in the back rooms. Staff turnover is very high. Some of the policies like “lease-lining” are intrusive and not indicative of pay. Benefits aren’t stellar and are expensive.

    -Employee discount
-Flexibility in shifts if going to school
-Great management, very friendly and easy to talk to
    -Competitive pay
-Lots of opportunities to work during the holidays
-Can branch out into other departments and have a shift scheduled for you to train in whichever department you were interested in maybe transferring to

    Cons

-Holidays can get a little crazy, worked many close to open shifts that would end around 3am and start around 7-8am during holidays, though this never happens when in the "off-season"
