I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The management was very good and the whole work environment was very professional. Was a blessing to work at Best Buy. Was a place where the management made you part of a close knit team.

    Cons

Earning a full time or supervisor position in Best Buy is competitive and takes time (Not a con but a challenge).

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good compensation and great benefits. A lot of tools to gain knowledge and succeed. Sales department is great to work for, receive great training and encounter healthy competitiveness.

    Cons

Typical retail problems such as working holidays and weekends but that's something you have to be able to work with when thinking of applying at this company.

    Advice to Management

Reduce Favoritism, something that you might encounter based on location, this is something that will help out the company long term.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I tried to find the Pros working here but i couldn't find any, except for the employee discounts, and even those weren't all that good.

    Cons

I thought that working here would be a blast, but it wasn't. Supervisors are totally selfish and arrogant. There was no help or training at all except for a few videos and online material. I worked there for the whole season and did at the most 20+ hours in total, they gave preference to friends and colleagues. I do not recommend working.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to train and place people who really know the job and are willing to help anyone and not just talk bad to employees.

All training is done through a computer
No one help you out since everyone is stressed out
    POS system would always fail

    Advice to Management

Instead of telling the employee what to do, show them!

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Discount is awesome.
    -Alway around the latest technology.
    -Co workers are awesome.
-Most customers appreciate good customer service.
-You aren't hounded at your job. (As long as you are productive, there isn't someone telling you what to do everytime.
-You will learn excellent customer service practices.

    Cons

-Managers lose sight of what their job is.
-Favoritism ( I know everywhere has it, but a lot of good people leave because they are overlooked)
-You will work a lot even as part time during holidays.
-Sometimes your hard work isn't appreciated.
-Managers don't reprimand the lazy workers, they just put the workload on the hard workers.
-Ideas aren't heard. (my way or the highway type of attitude.)
    -

    Advice to Management

Be unbiased and actual promote people fit for the job, not friends and people you hang out with and talk to. It just deteriorates the business.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only good thing about working there was my co-workers.
Great if job if you are going to school, you don't want to make this your career.

    Cons

Management was horrible but it all just depends on the store you are in.
If you are part-time your schedule is really just dependent on how well the store is doing.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better (non-sales)
