    Cons

Open on thanksgiving management works long hours dont get a lot of time with family. Vacation time goes away can’t bank it or sell it back

    Advice to Management

Make sure when u say we take care of our teams that it means management too because some of us get treated unfairly by higher management.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexible hours, get work environment, great staff to manager experience, the employee discounts are great and its great because used online and in store.

    Cons

Management is pushy and its all about sales. Most employees choose not to stay with the company for more then a year or 2.

    Advice to Management

Less sales driven and should me more employee encouraged sales driven. Every sale should be support versus what currently happens in where low ends sales are turned into coaching making the employee feel unhelpful.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good employees to work with and always some sort of drama going around. You become a family and work as a team. Pretty decent benefits and friendly employees and managers.

Honestly owe a big part of where I am today to Best Buy as they gave me a lot of training and work experience that I was able to apply to my current job.

    Cons

Retail is a beast of its own. Anyone who has worked retail knows what I'm talking about. If you are ok with working holidays and odd hours than shouldn't be a problem.

Near the end of my career at Best Buy, sales goals began to be driven down our throats but there would often be competitions to try to add a little fun to your work day/week.

    Advice to Management

I've been out of Best Buy since early 2014 so I can't speak to today's culture and work environment. With that being said, I became close with all managers and looked at them as if they were family as they were always trying to help us succeed. Lots of lecturing around sales goals and other stuff but overall business is business.

    Cons

Hours, management, sales goals are unreachable, compensation never enough, overtime work, etc.

    Advice to Management

Please consider adequately staffing and training individuals so there is no overtime pushed onto the real employees.

    Pros

gain experience in pitching services. constant customer interaction improves interpersonal skills. gain experience in marketing abilities.

    Cons

constantly demanded with a sales quota everyday while business is slow to the point where managers almost blame you for lack of sales and literally start breathing down your neck behind you while you help customers just so they can hear how you interact with the customer, you cant help that nobody shops at best buy anymore!

    Advice to Management

implement some kind of commission with your employees, that way they are actually motivated to sell things and you wont have to go out of your way to intimidate/blame/pressure your employees.
