I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Understanding and willing to help managers

    Cons

GM was very impersonal and not helpful as all of those below.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees more, and not just leave them hanging and not talk to them at all when you need to talk to them about something.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good Employee Discount
    Good Starting Pay

    Cons

Part-time employees work full time hours without benefits
    Hardly room to advance

    Advice to Management

Schedule Full time employees Full time hours and Part time employees Part time. Ridiculous when Part Timers are working 35-40+ hours.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount is the only reason I continue to work at best buy. Learn a lot about electronics if that is interesting to you.

    Cons

Horrible selling system that is forced upon you in place. No commission on sales so there isn't really any incentive to make a lot of sales.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good coworkers. That's about it.

    Cons

Horrifically managed, poor working environment. Managers and supervisors alike will use you as scapegoats to escape any criticism on their part. There are too many useless 'performance reviews' that do not actually help the employees. It's more of an intimidation tactic. I was told to either bring up my "numbers" or I would be fired. I loathed going to work here everyday so much I developed clinical depression.

    Advice to Management

You need to re-work your entire employee structure. Too little management, and too many responsibilities for poorly paid sales associates.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to gain experience working on many different type of issues.

    Cons

    Management disorganized.
Leaves employees to pick up pieces when higher ups make bad decisions.
    Training is lacking

    Advice to Management

Take more time to fully understand the effects of your decisions and provide training for your employees that actually pertain to their positions.
