I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

    - Ability to build a culture - Ownership of the business end to end - Stabilized from years past, much better environment - Competitive pay and benefits and incentive packages

    Cons

    - Poor placement of HR leadership, don't have the support to manage change when needed, can't be effective in being consistent around performance managing - Too many pipe dream projects, impacting teams lives and schedules to gain a fraction of the competitive market - Loss prevention has more say in your day to day than your boss, accusatory attitudes that everyone is immoral or unethical. LP senior leaders are not...

    Advice to Management

    - Streamline the HR/LP roles to have one in each location

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Discount is great. Focus on change to remain relevant in the retail space was good.

    Cons

In order to remain relevant they had to get rid of high paying people that have been around a long time. Cost cuts... Discounts to consumers and margin crunch is real. Pay seems good, but when don't have work life balance, not as good as it seems. No Loyalty to the people making it happen.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your people

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Competitive pay, employee purchase program, great vacation, benifits, and a company that truly values their employees.

    Cons

Retail hours, Stock Purchase program needs a face lift, and new employees get the same amount of vacation as a tenured employee

    Advice to Management

Set a more structured interview process, interviewers need to go through a "How to interview program" remember they are the face of the company to potiential employees. I would have HR do final interviews with top internal and external candidates to guarentee a fair and unbaised interview process has been done.

    Pros

High pace, you never get bored. High pay.

    Cons

Boys club. Due to high and ever changing expectations turnover is very high.

    Advice to Management

    Learn from Challenge and Change.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Endless options for applied learning. Contributions made by individual and group team members. Competitive benefits. Great company to start at any level.

    Cons

Company is always changing. The higher you go up the corporate the more likely you are to be cut at some-point. Nepotism seems to be its worst con but I personally have overcome this con as I personally have focused on promoting myself by my character and merit.

    Advice to Management

Continue efforts in really using company resources to enhance employees and team members lives. There are lots of resources but many go under used or are never used.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Pay is good with a decent base salary (depends on your district manager) and bonus potential monthly and quarterly. There is also Long Term Incentive in the form of stock shares

    Cons

Worked a decade for this company with great success. 2 months into taking over a new store and I was pushed out to make room for a GM whose store was closed 1 month prior. It really can be about how the people at the top feel about you personally
