I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people(usually), good pay for high school, learned a lot of people skills.

    Cons

Happiness hinges on management, people not taking responsibility for their actions, expectations to always hit 100% even if traffic is 50%

    Advice to Management

Don't hire managers from Hhgregg, they're awful and push you to sell things to people deceptively.

    Pros

    Very flexible with school schedule

    Cons

Really big about everyone getting someone to sign up someone for a credit card. Can be a lot of pressure and difficult when your only on the register.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect cashiers to always sign up someone for a credit card

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good money for the amount of work, so long as you put your foot down and stand up for yourself. Do what is your job, help others, but don't go nuts and it will be well worth your effort for the pay.

    Cons

It's still retail. You will still work Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve. You will still be dealing with retail customers. It can get hectic if you have a manager that also treats you like a PA.

    Advice to Management

Put more value into your people. Make sure you take care of the ones that want to stay and do good work. Give them the time off they need, even though retail doesn't always afford us the time. Give them fair pay. Let them know you care.
