    Being up to date on new electronics and tech trends Discount on certain items and Geek Squad Protection

    Cons

    HR seemed careless and slow in hiring (both internal and external) Poor/insufficient training of new employees Part-time/Full-time hour requirements were too stringent.

    Advice to Management

    Put more into your hiring and training process. This reduces expenses in the future from mistakes and frustrated co-workers who quit or transfer because of these issues. Be more flexible with students who have proven they can put in the hours. Don't take advantage of students during holidays, only to leave them stranded during the rest of the years. We have bills too.

    I worked for Best Buy for over six years. They always did their best to maintain a fin work environment while still focusing on sales. Great employee discount and wonderful work environment.

    Pros

    Pays well, good team atmosphere, awesome employee discount, knowledgeable team, they teach you what you need to know, and customer and solution centric.

    Cons

    Sometimes not enough coverage is scheduled, Black Thursday/Friday, hard to get a raise, and promotions opportunities could be better.

    Advice to Management

    A better job needs to be done in training new employees in selling skills and product knowledge, better inventory management of product, keep pay in pace with inflation then account extra for quality of employee, and don't dock so much for being 5 min late for work. Being tardy happens but if you are only allowed a total of 5 in a 6 month period that serves to put a lot of people on edge given that most times when... they where docked for being tardy they were 6 or 7 minutes late once or twice a month.

    Pros

    Gaining vast knowledge of products and selling skills, most of the employees are fun to work with and very easy to get along with. The work can frequently be easy and rewarding. Holiday season offers a ton of fast paced hours. Coaching provides some insight to your skills and how best to utilize them, as well as finding a new approach to sales. Most departments are very fun to work in (Digital cameras, car stereos)

    Cons

    Most customers do not enjoy the waiting time, or the "experience worksheets" used to capture information about them and what they are planning to buy. Management can frequently be hard on you about meeting goals for service plans. Starting pay is labeled as "competitive" yet, in my experience some of the competitors are offering a lot more to do the same job. Hours aren't that great during the regular year.
