I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Truly care about the employee experience. Give you the tools to grow in the business and taking the same tools and using them some where else.

    Cons

Your availability has to be flexible and definitely need to work on weekends. Some holidays as well like Thanksgiving and July 4th

    Advice to Management

    Work harder

good pay for teens (I got hired at $10.50)

    Cons

very political, over employed, underpaid for amount of work needed to be done, managers dont seem to care about employees, not flexible, they ignore your availability when making schedules then get mad when you call in or cant find someone to cover your shift, etc.

    Advice to Management

put more time and effort into training your new-hires, keep them updated with changes, sales, and promotions,be fair when creating schedules, try to be considerate of employees personal lives and their availability.

I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

As far as part time jobs goes best buy wasn't nearly as bad as I expected retail sales to be. I learned a lot and the training they gave us was outstanding.

    Cons

Rev goals are hard to keep up with if you work low traffic shifts, but you always usually have the ability to hit. Selling $300-600 of stuff every hour isn't close to impossible

    Advice to Management

More one on one time with employees , and relax a little bit this isn't their life time goal in most cases this is just a stepping stone .

    Pros

The pay is great .. And when you get bonuses even better.

    Cons

Lack of ethics of higher ups in company .. Work life balance is terrible. Be prepared to work 60 plus hours a week.

And if you ever speak up they are quick to remind you how easily replaced you are

    Advice to Management

Your brick and mortar concept is slot dying .. "Amazon's show room " isn't something to be proud off.

    Pros

Competitive pay with great people to work with. You really learn how to talk to customers and how to come out of your shell. Managers provide you with constructive criticism and will help you solve issues with little penalty. Tuition reimbursement, great benefits package, generous discount/vendor accommodations. Flexible schedule; They work around your school schedule.

    Cons

Rules aren't always explained to you and some you learn as you go; you can learn things too late at times. Repetitive work. Long hours. Promises aren't always fulfilled and you're left high and dry quite often. Lots of sales pressure to attach GSBTP, accessories, etc. If your baskets aren't there you will not get any hours.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that the rules of the employee discount are stated at initial training. Also make sure that management within stores are not playing favorites.
