I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great development if you work with your leaders on it.

    Inside and outside training available.

    Really care about their employees.

Some of the best benefits in the industry from healthcare to financial advisors to family planning.

Corporate is very hands on in developing the company in a great way based on customer service.

    Holiday pay is great.

Non commissioned in most sales positions but great bonuses if you hit goals.

    Cons

Every store runs quite a bit differently, management per store really controls how the store feels and operates.

PTO when first becoming full time is unbearable low.

    Advice to Management

Employees need a way to better understand how they are impacting he company and that what they are doing is actually helping the company progress. Employees seem to lose motivation due to not understanding the growth of the company.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discounts, accommodations, easy work and school balance.

    Cons

Retail hours, no union, no set hours, hourly pay, no thanksgiving, holiday work requirements, managers can take or give as many hours as they please.

    Advice to Management

No one enjoys a job where everything can go up or down in one day.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good training, great discount on many products

    Cons

Pay cap for sales, if you don't want to be a manager you'll be stuck at the same rate

    Advice to Management

Realize that some people make great salesmen, but wouldn't make a great manager and you're losing those people thanks to pay caps

    Pros

Monthly bonuses (sometimes), employee discount, the inside scoop on new tech! The occasional free food from management and free merch

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Steady work and usually very busy during "Season" time. Lots of work hours during the holidays. Flexible work scheduling and hours.

    Cons

One of the biggest things was that when you're hired on, it's usually (9 out of 10 times) done as a part-time employee that will eventually work full time employee hours, but without any of the full-time employee benefits. Each store only has a limited number of full-time slots and it make years for one of those to open up and then you hope to be selected.

    Advice to Management

Remember the people in your department and around the store that work hard to make sure you hit your bonus.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

i cant think of any. my time at best buy was a miserable experience. pro is i got paid. barely cause of my hours though

    Cons

at my location there was a real problem with miscommunication, especially between management and new hires. and i worked there almost 4 months and they had me and like 10 other people working 1-2 days a week 4 hour shifts. and my schedule was spread out im lucky if i got a week working out of that month. former best buy employee says they do 4 hour shifts so best buy doesnt have to give them a real lunch break. guess best buy is really hurting. also there was a MASSIVE delay in getting my expenses approved (best buy is supposed to pay you back for mileage and food when they have you training somewhere else)
