I worked at Best Buy (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work roles at small companies are often less specialized than at larger firms allowing employees to wear more hats, interact with staff in more functional areas in these smaller work environments and get a better big picture view of operations.

    Cons

    Low salary
less opportunity for growth and promotion
     less job stability

    Advice to Management

    Better help with new interns
Set clear standards for your team. Your staff members need to know not only what you expect them to do, but how you expect them to approach their work

I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great office atmosphere and culture, nice people, great discount on products. My boss was engaging and thoughtful and wanted me to succeed.

    Cons

Hard to get foot in door after internship. Was offered an extended internship and took it but at that time they didn't have a budget to hire.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to have an intern program take advantage of them. They begin to understand the business and build relationships. The company should make it a point to follow up with them.

I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cool internship with cutting edge tech. Supportive staff, and an incredible project. Gave real work that would be used in production! Has the opportunity for post internship full time job offers.

    Cons

As an intern, there are no downsides to a job like this. Best Buy is still transitioning from a hired contractor to a full time tech employee company. It's a good time to get into their Ecommerce department.

    Advice to Management

Continue this internship program! It has received only positive reviews from everyone that took part in it.

I have been working at Best Buy as an intern

    Pros

Great culture and workplace environment. The headquarters are an incredible place to work and conducive to productivity. As an intern they made an effort to get experiences for me that helped me learn, not just busy work.

    Cons

Being so big it is hard to know who to go to with problems outside your tiny division.
