I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great discount on most things. Pretty relaxed management . Coworkers feel like family.

    Cons

I've always felt like operations team gets shafted on pay for the amount of work they provide. So much micromanaging and rarely any recognition for the effort. Usually one worker doing the jobs of 2 or more.

    Advice to Management

Either provide more pay or provide more help, especially in the warehouse. More recognition for the tedious, hard work we provide.

I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers and staff members that create a good vibe in the store.

    Cons

Boss and Management are dictators that will take advantage of unassuming workers. Assuming you need the money this job is pretty laborious at times.

    Advice to Management

If you fire multiple veteran workers while you are understaffed right before black Friday, you should have a backup plan.

    Work environment is fine
Job is fairly easy, only a few times in a week where truly hard work is demanded

    Full time positions are scarce
    Holidays suck
Upward movement in general is difficult

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary, benefits, employee discount, decent work environment/atmosphere

    Cons

Late hours, poor hours, individual store management issues, not much ability to climb the ladder to higher positions (no vertical positional movement).

    Advice to Management

Greater communication between workers and upper management is needed for insight and feedback, especially within backroom/warehouse operations.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

What I've noticed is that Best Buy seems to attract fun and good people. I've made some friendships that are for life. We've bled and shed tears together during crazy truck days. Overall I enjoy my time here. The Employee Discount is also disgustingly good. I would say even THE best discount in retail.

    Cons

Some bad things are sometimes management is very indecisive and can be rather irritable. This will obviously vary from store to store, but my GM actually very much low-balls your pay. Not only do new people in my store make more than me, but also at other stores friends have been offered way more money than myself is currently making being at the company for 5 years.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reason any employee would give is the discount, even though it's not that great. It also provides many opportunities to advance and move up.

    Cons

There is absolutely terrible communication between employees and management, at all levels. That problem directly leads to a complete disconnect between corporate, district and store levels.

    Advice to Management

Spend some money on hiring and training.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Discount, other 'benefits', "potential to move up within the company".....

    Cons

Being threatened by "management" for being white, being threatened for being white, and living in fear for being white...

    Advice to Management

Have a backbone, stand up to convicted felons, and stand up for employees who ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORKPLACE!!!! I get it, we're white, so we don't mean anything to you all!!! But if you would simply run the paperwork on us all, you would see how WE are you're key to A REAL FUTURE!!!
