    I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Best buy has always been very good to its employees from ive seen. Some of my best friends ive met from working at Best Buy.

    Cons

    Recently Best Buy has made it mandatory that its sales floor employees need to take a verbal roleplay test on their knowledge of all the products in the store. and for as much of a headache this certification is to call us "Specialist" the pay is only good for highschoolers.

    Advice to Management

    Since store managers make around 6 figures it doesnt make sense that employees who have to go through certifications just to maintain a position dont make enough to live off of

    I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours, you get to learn a lot of new things and the people around you are pretty nice, at least the location i worked at was.

    Cons

    A lot of the benefits they advertised while recruiting were for full timer's and best buy is stingy with offering full time positions. Management is not organized and is poor at listening.

    I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

    The work environment is interesting, you get to experience the technical side and the retail side of the process.

    Cons

    The negatives are that there isn't much room for one to progress through the company unless you plan on spending 15+ years at the same location.

    I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I really liked the people working there. Coworkers seemed to be higher quality than typical people you would expect in a retail environment. The working environment feels professional and responsible where it needs to be, but it is also relaxed as well.

    Cons

    The work can be tedious and frustrating at times. Scheduling can be unpredictable for certain positions.

    Manage a way to give consistent hours to most if not all employees instead of giving max hours to 2-3 employees per department.

    I worked at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

    * Compensation is competitive
    * Provides employees with plenty of horizontal movement within each store
    * Employee-Employee environment was pleasant

    Cons

    * Work/life balance was poor for college students
    * Only listened to availability when convenient
    * Department was held to unreasonable standards, due to lack of resources (people, etc)
    * Management didn't treat sales and operations equally
    * Shifts frequently ran extremely late (4pm-4/11am) due to increased demands
    * Management was apathetic

    Advice to Management

    Really pay attention to your workers that aren't there for a career. Everyone has their own goals in life, and scheduling for a part time job shouldn't get in the way of it. Also, even though operations doesn't literally bring in the money, but they deserve to be treated as important contribution to the store's success.

    I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Very flexible hours. Amazing discount. Workload isn't that bad. Never really have to deal with any customers only when doing carryouts

    Cons

    We cannot take tips because Best Buy won't allow it you will loose your job if caught taking them. Managers can expect way more than they should at times

    Advice to Management

    Let us take our tips we deserve them not the company. Raise the wage to $11.50 starting

    I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Employee discount
    -Flexibility in shifts if going to school
    -Great management, very friendly and easy to talk to
    -Competitive pay
    -Lots of opportunities to work during the holidays
    -Can branch out into other departments and have a shift scheduled for you to train in whichever department you were interested in maybe transferring to

    Cons

    -Holidays can get a little crazy, worked many close to open shifts that would end around 3am and start around 7-8am during holidays, though this never happens when in the "off-season"
