I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Company overall. They have great benefits such as 401K, Potential Monthly/Quarterly bonuses, Health, Dental, Vision, Accommodations, Employee Discounts, Child Care, Tuition Reimbursement, and Some Paid Holidays. Depending on the store you go , you can make some life long relationships. Some managers go above and beyond for you and make you feel like a family.

    Cons

HR informs General Managers directly with ALL information given. Some GMs are ethically terrible. They literally tell other leaders that "it doesn't matter" when someone goes to HR because HR just goes to them. Leaders even say that certain associates are moved to certain store or areas of the store "to get fired". Essentially, they are set up for failure. My former boss made statements about interviewees, yelled at associates in front of others, and would even cuss at us. It'd be different if you had someone on your side.

    Pros

Great benefits. Great company. Strong CEO. They focus on profitability, which is easy to coach.

    Cons

Poor staffing at my location has lead to more stress than anything. Not enough leaders.

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

Looks good on resume, it's a good stepping stone if you want to make a future in business fields or if you're going in computers.

    Cons

You have to hit the revenue per hour given. Other salesmen will steal your sales because of not that many customers walking in.

I have been working at Best Buy for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great discount, Best Buy support system is better than most mobile places.

    Cons

Bonus as a team you can be doing really well and it doesn't matter when you work with people that suck

I worked at Best Buy for less than a year

    Pros

The employee discount is probably the best benefit or working at a best buy. Their customer base compared to other companies seems easier to work with, and typically not a pain to speak to. Monthly bonuses depending on your departments performance.

    Cons

Questionable hours for part time...I was working 50 hour weeks during the holidays, but no holiday months, I would be lucky to average 20, and even more lucky if I wasn't alone having to manage my own department, and adjacent ones. They really focus on you pushing credit cards.
