I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It feels like Best Buy really cares about its employees. Through training, benefits, and personal support, they will be there for you.

    Cons

Depending on what location or position you are working at there may be some rather negative people that you will work with.

    Advice to Management

Don't assume everyone is a quick learner. Be patient with new hires and help us along the way.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Have a chance to see everything that comes in the store. Learn how to do paper work and have a chance to work in the warehouse without any distractions.

    Cons

You have to cover AP breaks, lunch, etc. You're also in charge of all carry outs, which is fine until you are in the middle of doing something like receiving and have to stop since the customer comes first.

    Advice to Management

It can get overwhelming at times once holiday season start and have to manage to receive larger quantities of items along with keeping up with OMS orders.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In the right store and right situation it can be a fun work environment.

    Cons

There's a lot of internal politics that lead to people getting passed by when they deserve promotions, while people that don't deserve them continue to move through the company with no real skill.

    Advice to Management

Don't base an employees salary on their peers but on their ACTUAL worth.

    Pros

Always something new to learn with Electronics and Technology.
Great atmosphere to grow and share experiences with others.

    Cons

Too much pressure on selling instead of advising to explore and enrich the possibilities.
Goals should be based on personal interaction with customers as a collective more than favoriting the highest sellers.

    Advice to Management

When an entry level employee is wanting and working hard to grow their career with Best Buy (especially if they are of younger age) please do not discourage them whether you have personal problems with them or not. Ive seen excellent talent lose opportunities to grow with Best Buy as a former employee because of this specific advice.

I worked at Best Buy (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fun environment, decent pay, great employees, keeps you upto date on electronics, fun training meetings every year.

    Cons

High stress, poor work life balance, politics, difficult customers, struggling company thanks to amazon.

    Advice to Management

Try to retain your great talent.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee discount is great. The pay is decent, if your a supervisor or above you get pretty good quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

The people you work with (almost any job though). People won't put forth a lot of effort. Best Buy makes a lot of changes in roles so if you are a supervisor chances are you will get moved around in positions.

    Advice to Management

Job security, at least give a backdoor option if our position gets eliminated.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours upon request. Great employees, and great team leads. Fun environment most of the time.

    Cons

Stressful, SALES SALES SALES, GSP, Tech support, and have a particular manager that would not let me switch internally because "I did not like the job I was doing", even though I told them sales was not for me.

    Advice to Management

Don't deny a person the right to move internally if the person is not comfortable in the position they are in.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for as a college job or a potential room for a career, but don't count on it.

    Cons

Management needs a HUGE revamp, they hire based on merit and time with the company rather than hiring good natural leaders, huge mistake.

    Advice to Management

Get better, stop hiring those who are good sales people and hire those who are good leaders and reliable.
