I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

The customers and staff are great. Amazing to see some of the same customers came into the store everyday. I was told they enjoyed the smiling faces and conversations.

    Cons

The customers are totally right 100% police. Realistically that isn't always the case.

    Advice to Management

Managers get to know your employees.

I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

    Always some interesting to meet.

    Cons

More of a job supplier than a career opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within instead of filling open spots with whomever you see fit at the moment. Train your employees to be future leaders of the company not just spot holders.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great team environment. Everyone is motivating and challenging you to sell the most that you can. Good trainings available on all of the electronics in the department, varies by store though.

    Cons

Sometimes sales are pushed too much. If you do not sell enough of something, or numbers are low..its very frowned upon and pushed even if you cannot do anything about it due to low foot traffic in the store.

    Advice to Management

Relax on watching the numbers so much. Employees do not care about them...and we will try to sell reguardless.

  7. "Great first job, not much too it. Just sell attachments and things that get you notional margin and you'll do fine."

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the best things was the discount and the openness of the management. The discount isn't the greatest on many of the larger items like laptops and TV's, but on services and accessories, you got rewarded big time. And the education about tech was awesome.

    Cons

Sometimes there is a little too much pressure about selling the right things, other than that if you can't work Black Friday, you might as well consider yourself without a job.
