I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I liked the job aspect of this company. I loved getting to learn about new technology and talking to people about technology. Seems like you can move up easily but downsizing occurs often.

    Cons

    Long hours, not consistently scheduled

    Advice to Management

where to start..... Management at this place is awful, at least at 275. There were countless times we were locked in the building at closing time, even if we had already clocked out, we could not leave. Management is constantly screaming in your ear "Branded payments guys, who's gonna get the next branded payment??" All they care about is their bonus. Wants sales associates to ask people browsing for CDs if they would like to sign up for a Best Buy credit card. Managers often sit in the storage space where TVs and other large merchandise goes to spy on employees, or crouch and take notes on employee interaction. Someone needs to step in and take action on two of the specific managers in the 275 location.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love to travel so the fact that they pay for flights, hotels, rentals and food is a huge plus.

    Cons

Working overnights and having to see your team 24/7 can get really stressful. If there is somebody you don't like, it doesn't matter

I worked at Best Buy full-time

    Pros

The employee discount is awesome for accessories, connections and tables. The store in Lady Lake, FL was amazing and I enjoyed every minute while working for this store. Great atmosphere, employee engagement was awesome, great teamwork "One team, one dream."

    Cons

The Stores in North Little Rock was awful. The employees just seem not to care about their customers. The store in West Little Rock was a little better but some of the managers seemed to be racist and hold back promotions based on the color of skin. No one wants to work in an environment like that.

    Advice to Management

1763 keep up the good work.
222 motivate your employees to work together to achieve greatness, need team building.
275 do not judge others on the color of skin, promotions should be given to the best candidate for the job, not only the white people.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours, pay (for the most part), upward mobility, benefits, employee discount, sales program, discounts, 401k, travel reimbursement, and etc etc

    Cons

not much really to be honest, if you like technology and you can do retail this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have anything to say to management i feel forced to write half of this stuff to be real

    Pros

The pros were out of this world discounts, college reimbursement, retirement benefits, flexible schedule, and being able to learn from each customer.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great discount and had the opportunity to showcase technology week in and week out.

    Cons

A lot of pressure to hit numbers, to the point of micromanaging every category. There always seemed to be a different hot button that you were asked to manage week to week. Diminishing labor budgets too.
