    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

Always working to complete a list of planograms throughout the week and getting to know the store inside and out turned out to be pretty fun! And you always go home feeling great after walking all day and completing a list of jobs

    Cons

The stockrooms in all of the stores were ALWAYS a mess. There is absolutely no organization within the company. Not only did it make my job way more difficult than necessary and they have to lose so many sales just due to stockrooms mess alone.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who actually care and please for the love of God stop hiring crazy people.

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Back in early 2000's they had awesome getaways for achievers to win prizes and trips. Later on there was no money floating around to win anything.

    Cons

Constant reformations and changing business models made it hard to keep up with directives.

    Advice to Management

Stick to one working model of selling strategy and quit reforming directives. As soon as one gets figured out it is already expired

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great work/life balance, good employee morale in a turnaround environment. Bonus payouts in 2014 & 2015 exceeded target.

    Cons

A lot of lifelong employees that are very baked into old and expensive ways of doing things. There is some fresh blood coming in at the senior leadership level that's changing things, but things move very slowly.

    Advice to Management

Continue embracing the agile and lean work patterns that help other companies do more quickly with less...Get rid of people who say "we can't" or "it's hard." Keep the foot on the gas pedal.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Learns lots of great skills, there is quick movement for promotions in some areas, work life balance is decent outside of holiday season. There is a gym on campus, cafeteria is solid/reliable, dry cleaning services, banking as well, very convenient. If you are assertive with your direct leadership you can really make sure you are getting the personal development that you would want out of your position. You have an opportunity...

    Advice to Management

Be mindful of current opportunities: Most top talent leaves after a couple years because compensation is not competitive, people come in and get the skills/training they need to be successful and they leave for better compensation. So some area's constantly need to rehire, retrain people because we can't retain the people we should. The Layoff re-structure in 2014 is very distracting to the campus, every week entire...
