I worked at Best Buy part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Confusing at first but it's very structured and straight forward. Every morning you go in and read your to-do list. These tasks include cleaning, tag updates, and downstocking. Best part is, you get out no later than 2 30 PM. So half the shift is before opening.

    Cons

Pay isn't as high as the floor sales.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Customer Service Specialist *Ability to chat with co-workers during downtime *Cross-training is available for other departments *Easy job with little to no heavy lifting *Games are usually incorporated into weekend shifts *There is an option to go to either the quiet registers or the busy registers Asset Protection Specialist *A generally easy job, as long as you respect the leaders *It's pretty much getting paid to people watch Both *Ability to learn during downtime *Employee discount is amazing *Good people working there *Chairs are available if you need one for an injury *Half an hour lunch breaks with optional fifteen minute breather

    Cons

Customer Service Specialist *Lots of downtime during weekdays *Many shifts closing by yourself *No cell phones and limited computer access *"Hitting your numbers" is a big thing and if you don't hit them, then you get penalized and/or "educated" on how to better your sales tactics *You are required to know both cashier and customer service jobs and will be bounced around to wherever they need a body *Stressful during the holidays Asset Protection Specialist *Long periods of time where you don't get to talk to any co-workers *There's a whole process to apprehending thieves *Paperwork *Very few people on this team so it's hard to get someone to cover a shift Both *On your feet anywhere from 3-14 hours a day *Shifts are assigned two weeks in advance but are not always set in stone *
