I worked at Best Buy part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Coworkers are a fun group of people to work with on a daily basis. Great employee discounts.

    Cons

Low pay, not a whole lot of room for development. Not a career choice.

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

In my personal experience, my take away from this job role was the experience I gained working with different individuals from the public & peers, leadership & management exposure, as well as a peek at how corporate politics overtake your work ethic. The employee discount was also decent-ish.

    Cons

Don't expect to move up the ladder without a great politics game plan. Maneuvering store cliques, maintaining and exceeding monthly sales goals & promoting the 'Best Buy Lifestyle' is considerably more important to management than the experience given to customers. Quality, not quantity - at least in my experience.

I worked at Best Buy part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Like most retail jobs, your experience will vary on your store's culture. Mine was more laid-back and didn't care as much about metrics. Also, good benefits.

    Cons

Very little room for advancement, and it is hard to feel like you are being valued. There is the emphasis on selling, and a failure to sell is seen as a personal fault.

  10. "Solid Choice - Encouraged Growth"

    4.0
Former Employee - Best Buy Mobile Sales Associate

I worked at Best Buy full-time

    Pros

Plenty of part time positions with performers nurtured. Good growth for young adults, especially students

    Cons

Company driven sales metrics seem counter productive at times
