I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Something like this is all about who you work with. All of my coworkers were very nice and helpful to each other. Flexible schedule and easy to trade shifts

    Cons

Pay is good for a student working part-time, not much room for improvement beyond sales

    Advice to Management

I didn't have bad experiences with management

    Pros

It was a nice setting where you got to meet people from every walk of life.

    Cons

You had to work with a lot of youngsters.

    Advice to Management

    Train more.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful learning experience as a sales consultant. Lots of learning about technologies and how to make sales. Training sticks with you after employment and really helps your life after knowing much more about different tech.

    Cons

You work on commission, but you don't. Some stores (mine included) track sales very sharply and will get on you for under-performing (which is difficult to do during slow months) to the point of getting hours cut.

    Advice to Management

The staff is wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful (varies store to store), but in some cases like in mine, you encounter being assigned to a supervisor who doesn't meet the requirements of their job.

    Pros

    Pretty easy work great pay

    Cons

    No breaks, very little hours

    Advice to Management

If people are working up to 8 hours, let them have a break. They shouldn't have to beg just for 10-15minutes so they can eat. Also employees should be able to ask questions without being made to look like an idiot.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really good benefits if you're full time. Awesome employee discounts. GM at my store keeps things fun with cookouts or contests. Usually get acknowledged for doing well/ going above and beyond.

    Cons

Pay starts out not much better than most places but there's a lot of room to move up. Unless you're full time there's not a lot of hours or incentives to "go above and beyond".

    Advice to Management

Show your employees you care and acknowledge when they're doing well. You can't get us raises all the time but sometimes a "good job" goes a long way. Keep your employees happy and they'll keep your customers happy!

    Cons

They don't care to highly on the amount of work you put in. They always want more. They are not loyal.

    Advice to Management

Be more fair and lead by example.

    Pros

Its like a family. I love it. They are very flexible and they are not like other sales companies that are way too pushy.

    Cons

Dont really have anything bad to say about the company just a few employees that are lazy but that is just at my specific location

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!
