I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, employee discount was optimal, great opportunity to engage with people daily and make goal oriented team progress.

    Cons

Competitive environment for a non-commissioned sales staff, morale can easily be swayed by bonus/reward opportunities as opposed to customer success. Holiday hours obviously were a pain.

    Advice to Management

Invest in training and product knowledge, as well as engaging employees to be active listeners with their customers.

    Cons

    Management management management

    No ten minute break
    Severe unprofessionalism

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your employees. Stop letting power and control go to your head and actually stop talking and let others say what they have to for once. Also, retaking a class in professionalism will help your high turnover rate.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great friends! All that I got out of my 10 plus years in this company.

    Cons

Management Doesn't care about their employees.

    Advice to Management

Care about your team and your store will become successful. District and HR should listen to their employees. They are running people out of their jobs. Bestbuy isn't known for this type of treatment.

I worked at Best Buy as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Was Great learning how to work with bestbuy, Working as a team/family was great to experience. Learning more and more each day about new technology. You get to learn about electronics your not use to having.

    Cons

I didn't like how you relied on "Revenue". Maintaining customer service in your sections plus making Revenue in other sections. It's really hard when customers do not buy products in your section and also leaving your section to try to make a bigger deal else where. I did not like that at all. If they put you in a section, you should stay there.
