I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good job, not a great career. Would recommend as a good starting job for individuals with no experience.

    Cons

Corrupt corporate and management in leadership. Management can get away with anything they want to. HR will always side with management regardless of the situation. Maintaining strong, factual evidence is the key if you ever find yourself at odds with the wrong doings of management.

    Advice to Management

    Follow SOP.

    Pros

The discounts on certain items and the opportunity to learn about new technology. Great co-workers and managers that actually care (some of them).

    Cons

As soon as you get used to a policy or procedure it changes. Best Buy would be a better place to work if the "rules" weren't constantly changing. Additionally, the pressure to sell service plans can be stressfull.

    Advice to Management

Part-timers are important too! Just because an employee is part-time doesn't mean that he or she isn't as important as the full-time employees. Part-timers save the company money because they don't expect a full benefits package. I think that part-time employees could be recognized and rewarded more for their contributions.
