I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people, fun work, mostly positive vibe. Not a bad place to get started and learn a lot about retail and even business practice.

    Cons

Part time employees are not appreciated, more often than not get the shorter end of the stick. Hours are thin. Very very rarely is there room to move upwards. My location treats part time employees like lesser beings. Coming from a full time spot from a commuting job this does not affirm that I will stay here long. No benefits.

    Advice to Management

Value your part timers. They are often divvied jobs of the "higher ups" and do get treated a bit unfairly although we are performing the same jobs. It's bad enough we have no benefits.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are into sales, good start. If you are full time the pay is ok. If you like people you see a lot of them.

    Cons

Bad rep from consumers. Disgruntled customers every day. They dropped many seasoned supervisors without so much as a warning down to full time level.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to micro manage less and get to know your employees.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great relax environment, seems like everyone is family, always looking out for each other. Well at least for my store I worked at. As a geek squad member we always had goals and reaching for goals makes work move faster, therefore time fly's while working.

    Cons

If budget isn't met, part time employees suffer hours.
