I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Best Buy is a great company to work for. Every morning they have a store meeting where the store manager goes over the sales goals for the day and preps everyone. Best Buy is very team oriented. The on boarding process was smooth, short training for a couple of days before we were put on the floor. The company encourages employees to utilize training materials provided for them if there is ever any downtime in between customers. Management is very friendly and focuses heavily on numbers (as expected for a sales position)

The location that I worked in (Pembroke Pines, across the mall) has a great break room! TV, Cable, Comfy Couch to nap in, Coffee and Fridge. Never had an problems with anyone stealing food.

    Cons

While they inform everyone their sales goal for the week they do not work one on one with employees on ways that they can make those numbers. Best Buy encourages employees to focus on educating the customer on the electronics they need rather than just what they want, in order to ensure customer satisfaction; however not taking in to account that this may affect sales numbers.

    Advice to Management

    Reevaluate sales strategies

I worked at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

Good Pay, fun environment and people to work with , the discount on certain products

    Cons

Hours sucks when it's not the holidays unless you are full time and the not much room to grow in the company. The customers can be a real pain if they don't have it their way or can't return their products which is normal in any business especially retail!

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good discounts on some items, hours are somewhat flexible. A good part time job for a college student or someone in school

    Cons

Not much room to grow. It's a retail job that pressures you to sell and squeeze as much money out the Client

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good discounts, cool job, cool co-workers, fun to help people understand technology and how to use it, and you will be well prepared with all of the training. It's fun, but the fun is short lived.

    Cons

As the main money source to the source computer sailors is a very competitive workspace, management often sees you as a number, and sometimes get hostile. Also too much training and retraining. Often gets treated like a commission job but in reality you're making the same if you sell 2 million dollars of merchandise a year/$10k a day(one of my coworkers did) or if you're selling $10 a day.

    Advice to Management

Make the employees feel human and not just required to perform. It's not a commission job but gets treated that way by management.

    Cons

    Pros

great coworkers, employee discount, benefits (if you're full time), flexible with your schedule, good pay

    Cons

management is never on the same page, management doesn't care about the employees anymore, no holidays off, working weekends for sure, more about attaching geek squad and numbers than actual customer care
