    Pros

    Great discount
    Great benefits
    Flexible scheduling
    Fun work environment

    Cons

Big companies are hard to move up in sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Make yearly reviews mean something. That and a 20 cent increase is not a raise.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent. Lots of stores to choose from. Advancement opportunities. Clear management structure. You know what is expected of you at work.

    Cons

Popularity game, both in the store and at the district level. If you have a high work ethic, you'll go nowhere. Employees do unethical things all the time to just get their "numbers". I refused to play along.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good co-worker relationships, a lot of training provided (some paid)

    Cons

Sometimes pushed to sell products and financing to the point of harassing customers.

    Advice to Management

You might be able to pressure some customers into buying something they don't need, but most will realize this and simply don't return.

    Pros

    Employee benefits are stellar.
Very good place to learn about electronics and the companies that manufacture them.

    Cons

Poor attitude from management to drive success.
Non-incentive driven - It used to incentivize much more
Do not recognize the people that are successful and drive the company.
You either have to be family or sleep with someone to move up in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Open your eyes.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exciting new products, getting to converse with customers about interesting new items, & a stellar employee discount.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance. I was constantly battling with supervisors over shifts that conflicted with my college classes. They were concerned with only the job, and nothing else.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about employees as people again, not as assets.

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I worked at Best Buy as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Decent hours.
    -The managers were mostly fun.
    -Great Co-workers.
-Customers usually happy and very receptive of the sales pitching.
    -Great holiday hours.
    -Fun place to work.

    Cons

-While the holiday season hours are good, expect to work major holidays with no chance of sick or off days.
-As a seasonal employee with good scores monthly and a nice work ethic, I felt down when let go when there were multiple positions available.
-No notice when taken off the schedule, was given my "end of season" notice after two weeks of no information.
-Managers did often pick favorites and it was very transparent who they were.
-Schedules and updating took longer than it should have.
-Sometimes you'll go a week with absolutely no work and no clue about your schedule.

    Advice to Management

Please give notice to your seasonal people! It would be nice to know our end dates at least a month, or two weeks in advance so we may find other employment.
