I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

    - great products/services
    - nice HQ facility with daycare onsite

    Cons

    - no company project management office (at the time I worked there each department did project management their own way, no common methodology or best practices)
    - Accenture has a large presence and they don't always collaborate with consultants from other firms

    Advice to Management

put a PMO in place, establish best practices and eliminate waste/re-inventing the wheel

I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

Compared to other workplaces, Best Buy treats their contractors relatively well.

    Cons

Limited options to become a full-time employee, despite the better treatment as a contractor you are still not included in a lot of meetings and initiatives which is a problem with contracting, not necessarily Best Buy.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great collaborative environment. Compensation was above average.

    Cons

Constant org changes and bureaucratic. Lack of a good on-boarding process. (It took me weeks to get a working e-mail address). Routine layoffs.

    Advice to Management

When I was there, it was a very silo'd organization. Sr. Management needs alignment with each other before executing organizational wide initiatives. This would avoid a lot of spin / churn within working groups during the process.
