    I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Morning shifts, your work should be done around 12-1 pm. Except on Wednesday where you might have to work overnight.

    Cons

    Pay is very little, the nature of the job is not too hard. Can't make a living out of this job. and working 12+ hrs on Wednesday

    Pros

    Supportive store manager, general manager and MS District manager. Every presented idea was accepted and implemented.

    Cons

    As any bigger system has slower decision time. The increase of the hourly rate is very small, in cents.

    Advice to Management

    Improve the salary increase process (not in cents) and as well yearly performance.

    Pros

    Very fun and fast paced workplace. Teamwork is encouraged. Everyone is very helpful in training new employees. best buy pays well and incentives are offered at times.

    Cons

    management sometimes will show favoritism. Due to the average age of employees, there is some unprofessionalism at times, which is mostly harmless.

    I have succeeded to built a great relationship with my co-workers and superiors at the store where I work Superiors and GM are very supportive and they create a very healthy work environment.

    Cons

    I have no cons to share

    Advice to Management

    During weekends all par time ppl work so you should be more flexible on scheduling full time employees during the weekend.
    Since that BBY is ultimate technology, shop please try to integrate all this technology on a more integrated level.
    Education: a special focus should be on customer service and learning more from very successful companies.

    I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Had a good experience working there. Training was done on the computers at the store. Good employee discounts. Coworkers were mostly good

    Cons

    Some management was questionable. Several times I had to close and then be there again at 6am for a team meeting.

    Advice to Management

    Don't keep scheduling employees for shifts they didn't have marked as available in the application.

    Good working culture, ability to get promoted quickly, I easily molded into the team, and there is good competition for sales

    Cons

    No set hours, could end up on lazy team, bad management in some stores, no commission, no job security

    -not bad pay but could be better
    -fun at times
    -the discount
    -flexible work schedule as long as you give them a heads up

    Cons

    - difficult holiday hours
    - management breathes down your neck at times
    - depending on your work ethic... Not commission based
    -late nights if you have school

    Get to know your employees, another associate has received praise for the things I've done

    Pros

    I have a position in the computer sales department, you get to learn alot about technology and the new things out in the world. The discounts are great as well (some 50% off items!)

    Might give you a hard time with scheduling
