I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great and flexible working environment. Depending on the store, there are great opportunities for community involvement events - the store I was at was able to send employees to PGA tour because we were a sponsor.

    Cons

Sometimes longer hours than expected. If there is low staff, you may need to work in a department that is unfamiliar to you

    Advice to Management

Make chalk-talks more relevant to workers.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some products had decent discounts. First hand experience working with and selling new consumer technology.

    Cons

Not sure if it was a nationwide thing but they raised the minimum pay for their Sales positions by almost $2.50/hr after I quit because their retention rate was so bad.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging, especially with sales. You literally tell employees you don't work based off commission but you sure as hell treat them like it.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment, up to date in technology.

    Cons

Pay is a quarter above minimum wage in many locations. If you are okay with making very little money but still having an easy job. This is the job for you.

    Advice to Management

Please remember that the people that work in these stores would also like to receive a little more of the pie each year. Upper management somehow always make you feel like they are making so much more money and making sales people feel less.
