    Pros

Very easy if you know you products.

Pay is usually decent for the amount of required work.
Have plenty of assistance from all your direct co workers

    Cons

Have to usually know the most about uprising/new products coming out, keep up to date with releases.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount is legit, nice stuff to work with, break room is legit, and we get discount on food and drinks

    Cons

None really, but work is consuming sometimes, sometimes only you on your sale floor, some departments don’t really work as hard as yours sometimes

    Advice to Management

Give me some commission on gsp. Also I like for a gaming console in the break room. Also I like more organized laptop bag section instead of rows of pegs.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employee discount is awesome. Also get accommodation pricing in a vast array of products direct from the vendor's, which are heavily discounted.

    Cons

Hours can be long especially during thanksgiving and Xmas. Labor is limited and hours must be filled by the GM

    Advice to Management

Greater appreciation of the work performed. Provide additional labor to help ease the burden on the GM's.
Also need to pay hourly employees a better wage if you want to retain them.

    Pros

Fun place to work at as long as management is good. You can really move up if you put your mind to it.

    Cons

If management sucks you'll want to leave asap and stores defiantly play favorites regardless of productivity.

    Advice to Management

Have fun while being the best and never ignore your employees thoughts, ideas, and concerns.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Team oriented work environment, great place if your a geek and love to be surrounded by new and emerging technologies. Lots of opportunity for career advancement.

    Cons

Retail Holiday hours can be brutal, training for new products usually done on computer in warehouse or on busy sales floor. You will not only be rated on your sales per hour but transactions per hour and attachment to sales of Best Buy cards and service plans.

    Advice to Management

Understanding the need for a way to better train the sales floor on current and emerging technologies, partner with vendors who will see the importance of better trained employees who will create the best customer experience.

    Pros

Always working to complete a list of planograms throughout the week and getting to know the store inside and out turned out to be pretty fun! And you always go home feeling great after walking all day and completing a list of jobs

    Cons

The stockrooms in all of the stores were ALWAYS a mess. There is absolutely no organization within the company. Not only did it make my job way more difficult than necessary and they have to lose so many sales just due to stockrooms mess alone.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who actually care and please for the love of God stop hiring crazy people.

    Pros

The people are great, high energy environment, advancement opportunity, good discount, decent salary, flexible scheduling. If you live people and technology then Best Buy is an awesome place to work.

    Cons

The holiday season is brutal. Expect to work 12-15 hour days as a manager, most of the time on your feet. Say goodbye to your family from lay October through super bowl weekend.

I have been working at Best Buy (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Discount and Fun learning about all the new technology.

    Cons

No commission. You will work hard to hit high number everyday for every hour. But there is no commission. No extra pay if you sell way better than anyone else in the store. Good for a first time job, however, just a stepping stone for a better job.

    Advice to Management

Be nicer to your employees. Treat them with respect. Actually care for your employees.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount
    Flexible Schedule
    Laid Back Team
Very flexible career pathway. Can jump from position to position with ease.

    Cons

    Limited Hours
Almost impossible to get full time employment
Depending on location, some managers may not even show you they care about you. Since it's an entry level environment, some coworkers may be very childish.
