I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employee discount is awesome. Also get accommodation pricing in a vast array of products direct from the vendor's, which are heavily discounted.

    Cons

Hours can be long especially during thanksgiving and Xmas. Labor is limited and hours must be filled by the GM

    Advice to Management

Greater appreciation of the work performed. Provide additional labor to help ease the burden on the GM's.
Also need to pay hourly employees a better wage if you want to retain them.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

very relaxed work environment always get the days off i request. friendly people

    Cons

they want me to fix the displays but i need to be trained by the regional guy and he hasnt been anl to come to my store but im still expected to fix the displays without proper training and i feel im getting punished for it by having my hours cut. ive asked why im getting less hours and the only response is "we are only allowed so many hours we divide it up how we can" instead of tlling me what i need to improve on

    Advice to Management

communicate better with your employees and get the schedules out earlier, not saturday night right before the next week.

    Pros

Fun place to work at as long as management is good. You can really move up if you put your mind to it.

    Cons

If management sucks you'll want to leave asap and stores defiantly play favorites regardless of productivity.

    Advice to Management

Have fun while being the best and never ignore your employees thoughts, ideas, and concerns.

    Advice to Management

Understanding the need for a way to better train the sales floor on current and emerging technologies, partner with vendors who will see the importance of better trained employees who will create the best customer experience.

    Pros

Always working to complete a list of planograms throughout the week and getting to know the store inside and out turned out to be pretty fun! And you always go home feeling great after walking all day and completing a list of jobs

    Cons

The stockrooms in all of the stores were ALWAYS a mess. There is absolutely no organization within the company. Not only did it make my job way more difficult than necessary and they have to lose so many sales just due to stockrooms mess alone.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who actually care and please for the love of God stop hiring crazy people.
