    Pros

    1: Bonusing is nice even when it comes to being part time
    2: Managers always train when needed to do so
    3: Friendly environment
    4: The discounts are really good
    5: They work well with your school schedule if needed

    Cons

    1: Pay is ehhh for all the things you have to know
    2: My location has a manager who always has a problem with anything and everything so asking for his assistance is always a no go for me
    3: Keeping up with numbers isn't hard... as long as there is customers, but if there isn't no matter what it's kinda hard to do something about it

    Advice to Management

    My only advice to management is if there is a manager who literally has a problem with every employee in the store, there should be some sort of action taken against it to talk about why it's so hard for him to work with anyone

    Pros

    Competitive salary that matches or exceed similar companies.
    Good benefits; 401k, health, wellness, paid time off, stock discount.
    Employee discount is very good.

    Cons

    Roughly every 18 months they have a restructure giving everyone a sense of lacking job security.
    Politics move your employment up through the ranks far more than capability.
    Profit is valued far higher than human capital.

    I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great employee discounts, crazy stories, opportunities to get hands on computers for repairs. If you're lucky, you will have good co-workers to grow and learn from each other with.

    Cons

    Non-professional environment. It's hard to appear professional in a retail store that has noisy demos, crying babies, and people constantly interrupting to ask where products/bathrooms are. Management only cares about meeting the numbers, no care for employees. Geek Squad never has the tools to do the job, so expect to bring your own from home. Systems constantly failing, BBY HQ is constantly putting up price corrections and is quick to send customers misinformation (causing them to come in-store pissed at you.), and expect to work every holiday.

    Advice to Management

    Each year has been "Do more with less". We're hitting rock bottom. Geek Squad at corporate is making changes that are killing it's culture, and that is driving away our sense of pride and personal drive for professionalism. Supply us with tools and a stream-lined check-in system that doesn't require 8 slow pages of information to check in a simple client task. Stop over-promising to customers if you're not going to give us the tools to adequately serve them. (No, using my wonderful customer service skills to put out your fires doesn't make this an acceptable practice.)

    Keep up the good work, some of the best managers I've ever had. Very kind and understanding, but firm and knowledgeable.

    Pros

    Easy to find seasonal, part time employment.

    Cons

    Very little to no training
    Management does not watch out for their workers, when you're a seasonal employee you basically get thrown to the wolves.

    I worked at Best Buy (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent team work and team building experience. Had a lot of fun working here and learning how to work with others to deliver excellent sales services.

    Cons

    Sales methods changed a lot and training was sometimes hard to keep up with. Computer training wasn't the most efficient and sometimes exhausting to complete.

    Advice to Management

    Would have liked to see more active methods to encourage training and opportunities to excel within the store along with more incentives to push for growth.
