I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is generally flexible with schedules
    Good discounts

    Cons

Pay is very low for what you do. You get paid way lower than what you should be making. So much things to deal with, and especially when they and Apple came to an agreement to get customers devices fixed/shipped.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and listen to them.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great stepping stone to venture out to other companies if you want to move to better companies.
    Flexible hours.
    Best employee discount in industry.
    Great sales training program.

    Cons

    Management heavily favors high performers.
Pay is very low and inconsistent between departments

    Advice to Management

Advancement opportunities will keep turnover low, make pay more competitive and comparable to other companies.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Normally would be flexible with my school schedule, but lack of hiring forces me to work full-time hours without benefits. (I'm part time).

Coworkers are cool to hang out and chat with.

Access to newly released product as it comes in, whether it be games, TVs, etc. The employee discount is pretty good.

    Cons

Favoritism is an issue at both locations I have worked at.

Managers during store meetings want to "boost morale", in a presentation, the manager avoided discussing pay raises.

Lack of hiring people forces it to be understaffed almost the entire time. This is a direct failing of store leadership.

    Advice to Management

You should promote your employees who have been loyal to the company, and that you have constantly called "the best". By denying them the chance to move up, you prove that you owe them no loyalty. In return, your employees will have no loyalty to you.

I have been working at Best Buy (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great discounts. Lots of stores for transfers. Get to work with latest and greatest gadgets. Great co workers. Lots of times your co workers are the reason why you enjoy work. Bonuses can help out with lack of pay.

    Cons

The pay scale is completely a shame. New restructures keep it impossible for employees to get a competitive raise that's worth staying.

    Advice to Management

Learn how not to play favorites. Learn how to treat employees as people and not to much as workers. Lots of management are lazy and are just collecting pay checks.
