I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of good training, friendly coworkers, anyone in a supervisor position was the best to deal with compared to working anywhere else, and the discounts/bonuses.

    Cons

Sometimes had weird hours and conflicted with school schedule, our store pushed geek squad services too much, and sometimes had weird high school type drama between coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work but I really hope we don't lose BB to other competitors like Amazon. Do we really need to sell a $1-10 item for $15-25+?

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company. They had this moto "have fun while being the best". So if your looking for a job that gets you excited to go to everyday its a good choice. You will be around all the newest tech stuff wich was a plus for me. Opportunities to move up are there for the determined hard workers.

    Cons

Management sometimes needs to be more involved with their departments and take time to have one on ones with their employees to help them grow/ improve.

    Advice to Management

what I just mentioned in the Cons section

    Cons

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

flexible, nice benefits, and generally a fun place to work at if tech toys are your thing. I started working here right after college. I needed a job and they hired me. I worked there there years and some change. Took awhile to get promoted but once I did the money was REAL good.

    Cons

High stress sales built around protection plans and services. Rude customers and crazy hours during the holidays can drain you. Work life balance is great during the summer months BUT during the holidays it's almost nonexistent. The company goals are a touch short sighted i.e. laying off 2000+ persons to save some cash.

    Advice to Management

Trying to see your employees as people and don't let personal politics get in the way of developing the next generation of leaders
