I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Employee benefits, competitive pay, diverse employees, great discount, fun atmosphere, etc.

    Cons

There are really no cons depending on the store you work at. It depends on store leadership and some stores suffer from poor management.

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Best buy trains their associates very well in the art of selling. I learned so much having no sales experience before starting there.

    Cons

Working in a strongly team based environment so you must rely on others to complete a task. This can have its own challenges.

    Advice to Management

I believe management at the location I worked was fantastic! Super friendly and firm .. great advice from them for growing your future.

I worked at Best Buy full-time

    Pros

If you work hard you will be noticed and rewarded for your commitment. Get to be on top of all of the newest technology and devices.

    Cons

A lot of hard redundant work. High pressure sales environment sometimes. Can get boring after spending so many days doing the same thing.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your employees and find new ways to encourage them to succeed.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Best Buy are the discount is amazing, coworkers are a younger, in the loop crowd, fun competitive atmosphere

    Cons

Managers can be too pushy at times with geek squad protection and credit card apps. They also expect commission results with just low paying hourly associates.

    Advice to Management

Maybe have a employee appreciation day every month or do a cookout or something. We all work too hard and don't always feel appreciated.

I worked at Best Buy for more than a year

    Pros

Getting to look at all the neat stuff I was going to buy on Amazon.

    Cons

Working in the mobile dept, they still expected us to have a certain number of credit applications. They were giving phones away for $1 and still expecting to get credit apps. They micromanaged you to hell and their turnover is extremely high. They also expect you to take all these wacky online courses that have nothing to do with your department on a weekly basis.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging your employees. Also, having credit apps in the mobile phone dept when you're giving phones away for $1 is ridiculous.

I have been working at Best Buy

    Pros

You will always be surrounded by the latest and the greatest in technology.

    Cons

Best Buy is leaning more and more towards not caring about it's employee's. We are all expected to work as supervisors while getting paid less and less. There is a lot of favoritism amongst leadership. This company does not support mothers and families. It is basically a man's company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates. Sometimes you have got to go back to the fundamentals. My store I currently work for is so lost. I use to be proud to work for this company but now I just don't know. I have been treated so poorly. I don't trust my leadership team. I think GM should really stay intuned about what truly goes on in their store. It is more and more like a click thing working there. Fortunately for me I have never...
