    Pros

It is a fun environment to work in, where you are constantly challenged to learn more about the technology and improve your sales ability. Best Buy is not commission based with makes the job much more enjoyable because rather than compete with your fellow peers you can work together to improve everyone's skills!!

    Cons

It is retail so you have to deal with crabby customers, but it can be a blessing because you learn great patients and people skills!

    Advice to Management

I personally would have tried to develop a better way of communicating within the upper management, the biggest complaint my part time associates had was that different managers would tell associates different things.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Coworkers, Good amount of breaks. Tattoos allowed on the workers. managers were chill. Enjoyed the environment overall.

    Cons

Didn't really like working cashier. The hours weren't the best. They made me work when I had pink eye. It was black Friday.. they let me off at some point, was still dreadful. Working customer service sucked if someone called out.

    Advice to Management

Stay chill, thank you for the happy environment. Thanks to the company for that discount.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing to do besides help customer, the bonuses when made can be nice, the companies policies and how they take care of their associates is really good for the most part. The company gives you a solid appeal to come work for them

    Cons

Though we are not a compensation company we are still held to high sales standards. At my store management very much is the type where you are never good enough. Unless, of course, your making mazaradi sales and pitching for spending the most. There is pleanty of double standards and favoritism. If your a busy body or not a sales person I highly recommend to avoid this company or stay with operations. The hours are also horrible.

    Advice to Management

I know we are to make sales but maybe not treat your employees like garbage when they arent preforming to the max and above. Plus what is so wrong with set schedules? It would really help the whole work life balance.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent work environment, awesome discount, decent benefits for full-time employees, great company for a career if you can get through the politics.

    Cons

Politics ruin everything. Mandatory overnight shifts every so often for product inventory, traces of favoritism are clear.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The other people that you work with are great. they want to be good even if they aren't. However the best part is the customers, at least the ones who are willing to listen.

    Cons

Pay, the store management is paid fairly, for the most part. they (the management) make a decent and livable wage. Every other Position in the store has a far to low pay cap. There is a lot of turn over because of the pay.

    Advice to Management

you would be able to retain your best people and compete with online (cheaper) retailers by having the option of paying the better people what they are worth.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, fun environment, bonus structure, rewarded for great customer interactions, reasonable hours and shifts. Best Buy is a great place for you first job or if you're looking to make a career. Pays well and has a lot of incentives for its employees. You also get to work in a "sales" environment as compared to a warehouse or stack it high let it fly mentality.

    Cons

The only cons are it is retail which means working weekends, black Friday, and unruly customers. you will as a sales person be expected to make sales which is not for everybody. the company trains its supervisors and managers to drive sales and solutions, this isn't target it is Best Buy.

    Advice to Management

communication is key, most employees just want to be kept in the loop. Let there supervisors work with there own employees instead of asking them to train in other departments. If everybody takes care of there home the company will succeed.
