I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great development if you work with your leaders on it.

    Inside and outside training available.

    Really care about their employees.

Some of the best benefits in the industry from healthcare to financial advisors to family planning.

Corporate is very hands on in developing the company in a great way based on customer service.

    Holiday pay is great.

Non commissioned in most sales positions but great bonuses if you hit goals.

    Cons

Every store runs quite a bit differently, management per store really controls how the store feels and operates.

PTO when first becoming full time is unbearable low.

    Advice to Management

Employees need a way to better understand how they are impacting he company and that what they are doing is actually helping the company progress. Employees seem to lose motivation due to not understanding the growth of the company.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It’s fun to work with Your Team, and the company takes care of the employees. There are always contests and challenges to work towards and yes, the discount is good too.

    Cons

Many people in Supervisor/management positions tend to stay there so advancement opportunities don’t happen too often. But there are different opportunities as in changing departments and doing different things.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor did a good job managing the team, and often accommodated my schedule as a full-time student. The merchandising crews are often down to earth individuals and fun to be around. If you're in college, and want to reserve your cognitive skills for your academic endeavors, then I'd recommend working in this position.

    Cons

As a Merchandising Specialist, it is very labor intensive, especially as the holidays approach. You will be expected to stay late in order to stock all the merchandise on the floor or in the back warehouse.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

The company will train you really well before you get to the sales floor. Also if you decide you want to move up in the company, they will work with you to help you in your career path. Also, they have a really flexible scheduling for people that may be in school.

    Cons

It may suck getting used to a job where you have to work together as a team to bonus, instead of commission, because you may have to pick up somebody's slack on the sales floor.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great environment. Management is very nice and helpful. 95% of fellow employees are friendly and helpful. It's great to learn about all the new tech in different areas. Great benefits and great discount.

    Cons

Training is lacking sometimes. It's a very initiative based job where you get an overview and then trial and error to get better.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They generally have good workers who are willing to work with you so far you are ready to work

    Cons

Sometimes, they could be a little TOO work oriented that it gives the workplace a dull and numb feeling.

    Advice to Management

Please make your team put things where they belong. Enforce it! Or else, people who like to ensure things go to their rightful places will be slowed down.
