I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

overall a great company to work for, amazing benefits, great large company structure, that does focus on growth from within. would definitely recommend for anyone, but know that if you take a line level job its exactly that, if you want something more career driven within the company, be prepared to put in time to grow within the specifics the company outlines. In my opinion it is worth it.

    Cons

due to size you do get some leaders within stores that are not fully capable of performing their duties, as with any company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the positive talent on your existing team, and weed out the negative lack of talent.

    Pros

The starting pay is really good and they are very flexible and understanding. I mostly enjoy working there and it's a good starter job while going to college, just nothing to make a career out of.

    Cons

Constant rule changing. Unless it's busy it's very boring, unless you work full time no benefits are included. Really not easy to move up in the company.

    Advice to Management

There should be more benefits for part-time workers and some of the supervisors should become more educated about the sections they are in. They push sales more than they do customer service which is an issue.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome discount for most products. Pay starts above average. Great environment.

    Cons

Very pushy when it comes to offering credit cards. Management is always on top. Work holidays to include thanksgiving. Not a family oriented company.

    Advice to Management

Look out for the good employees that would like to grow in the company. Take them under your wing and instruct them more about how to do your job. Actually HELP them when they want to move up.
