I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The best reason to work at Best Buy is helping customers enhance their lives through the latest technology.

    Cons

If you are not under the right management, you may feel like you are stuck in your position.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and they will take care of your company. Treat them like I do not matter and what they think doesn't affect your business and you will be proven wrong. I have seen first-hand how a general manager can turn the atmosphere of an entire District around. To drive Improvement and to decrease turnover rate. I'm talking over 30 internal promotions in less than 2 years, and one of the best work families...

I worked at Best Buy full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Competitive Pay Strong Company Values Decent Retail Job Bonuses

    Cons

Poor Management Overbearing workload Micromanaging Unfair Work Practices

    Advice to Management

There is extreme bias and favoritism when it comes to career advancement. It should be based on performance and execution of responsibilities. Management also lacks knowledge in several areas in the store. They micro-manage 99% more than they actually manage anything else.

I worked at Best Buy part-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The employee discount on certain items and services is great. That, unfortunately, is the most one should expect out of employment with Best Buy (or any other retail company).

    Cons

Pay isn't great. Hours aren't great. Benefits aren't great. In retail it seems that the only real monetary and benefits gains come if you're willing to make the personal sacrifices necessary to make it to upper management.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for management.. Frankly, management doesn't have much of a say in what goes on, so I'm uncertain what any advice could actually accomplish.

I have been working at Best Buy for more than 2 years

    Pros

A lot of room for growth. You can really learn more about management of the store if you have inviting management.

    Cons

If your team isn't on point this can be a stressful position. You are still responsible for your personal sales performance and your team's performance. Very demanding on your personal life.

I worked at Best Buy for more than 6 years

    Pros

Work roles at small companies are often less specialized than at larger firms allowing employees to wear more hats, interact with staff in more functional areas in these smaller work environments and get a better big picture view of operations.

    Cons

Low salary less opportunity for growth and promotion less job stability

    Advice to Management

Better help with new interns Set clear standards for your team. Your staff members need to know not only what you expect them to do, but how you expect them to approach their work
