I worked at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

the discounts are not that good

    Cons

for part time 5 hours a week its not worth it

    Advice to Management

reward those that really make the store run with more hours and higher pay and it will come back to you 10 fold and nurture those relationships - some managers are clueless and don't seem to care when employees don't perform well or even show up for work. Why do they still have a job. I heard it more than once - They don't care.

I worked at Best Buy for more than 6 years

    Pros

The employee discount can be amazing (depending on the item), 5% above factory cost. It’s literally the reason I kept two jobs as long as I did, I didn’t want to give up the discount. The pay is also pretty good for retail, as it’s above minimum wage. Great employee recognition programs; like Achievers!

    Cons

It’s retail, so you should expect to work nights, weekends, and holidays. If you have a problem with that; don’t work retail.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great employee discounts, managers are generally accommodating, you learn a lot about electronics and how to get the best deal for yourself and customers.

    Cons

Not too many opportunities for advancement unless you're interested in management. Certain metrics must be met or morning training becomes mandatory.

I have been working at Best Buy for more than a year

    Pros

The Seattle office where most of the mobile developers are located has a lot of autonomy and is very developer friendly. The product managers and developers work well together and the expectations are reasonable. The people are fun, kind, and smart. Every person will drop what they're doing to help and its embedded in the culture. They invest in new employees because they fully intend to bring them in long term. I can't...

    Cons

Can be too enterprisey usually in small ways such as unnecessarily strict Wi-Fi settings, the bureaucracy of a strong organization structure, and features coming down from above.

    Advice to Management

You have a good thing going and it shows in the quality of the product, loosen up a little.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The culture has always been a differentiator for Best Buy. People love to work here, and we are encouraged to find more ways to empower our associates and improve the employee experience. I've always felt the pay was competitive. Anyone who complains about pay probably isn't comparing it to a similar job. Additionally, Best Buy rewards movement over mastery, so your raises are much more substantial from promotions rather...

    Cons

Nobody leaves a bad company, they leave a bad boss. Once you have a GM who doesn't like you, it becomes very hard to promote or transfer stores because they will sandbag you when someone calls for their input. We focus so much on promoting from within that we will ask other's input and way they more than the merits of the candidate.

    Advice to Management

We know you "don't play favorites." But of course you do. Just be better at pretending you don't have a favorite.

I worked at Best Buy part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good Coworkers, Good amount of breaks. Tattoos allowed on the workers. managers were chill. Enjoyed the environment overall.

    Cons

Didn't really like working cashier. The hours weren't the best. They made me work when I had pink eye. It was black Friday.. they let me off at some point, was still dreadful. Working customer service sucked if someone called out.

    Advice to Management

Stay chill, thank you for the happy environment. Thanks to the company for that discount.
