Bethesda is a low cost provider paying only on the 50 percentile, in the middle of a merger with all the uncertainties that come with a merger.

I worked at Bethesda Hospital East full-time

    Pros

Several employee recognition programs, flexible with customers, some facilities are new or recently renovated. Strong sense that what we did as employees was very important.

    Cons

Hard to advance if you are not clinical/licensed, too much work load put on middle management and some positions, top-most management is not accessible, corporate offices can be dictatorial, pay could be better. High expectation of employees to volunteer and donate.

    Advice to Management

Top-most managers need to put their cell phones away and spend more time at the point of care/service, fewer meetings, look for input from operations before introducing big changes, top-most management should take more ownership of their decisions.
