***BEWARE**** I would not recommend applying. When your in training recruitment team will come in halfway through your three day training with a loan agreement for £105, you feel abliged to sign and which no one has mentioned!!! . The coordinator will come in and shout house rules at you. Then the recruitment team will follow and contradict everything she has said. You have one shadow shift and expected to go out on your own!!! Office staff are not supportive and there is an office bully!!

    Advice to Management

Support your carers more. Especially the new starters.

    Pros

New Managers often do a very good job of creating an improved working environment, professionalism & continuity (though they only last a few months before they leave or are abruptly dismissed)

    Cons

The reason organizations have such a rapid turnover of staff is primarily because they treat their staff badly & this was my experience here. The work rotas are chaotic & erratic, managers & office staff regularly shout at both Staff & Service Users, staff are either given unworkable hours of work or hours are dramatically reduced when they are out of favour. In my view (and that of professional bodies) these behaviours amount to bullying & harassment issues & it's not difficult to see why they cannot retain staff for more than a few months.

This may be how some people choose to run their business but this is especially concerning when the business is providing a service to sick & very vulnerable people.

    Advice to Management

Improvements to professional skills/behaviours by senior management & better relations with both staff & Service Users would be a good thing to consider. Training on appropriate communication, professional practice & positive management styles seem to be seriously lacking.
