I have been working at Bexar County full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pension and decent health insurance.

    Cons

No advancement. Problem and unproductive employees are moved around and sometimes given promotions. Management makes decisions based on assumptions and personal feelings. HR is a joke and is run by the Budget department.

    Advice to Management

Start taking care of your productive employees and talent. Stay out of politics, that is for the elected officals not employees.

I worked at Bexar County full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learn different programs that can be used in other county jobs, good insurance & retirement.

    Cons

OVERWORKED! Higher ups that have never done the job or haven't done it in years keep piling on new "projects" while they get to enjoy their weekends and holidays off. They never say thank you or good job and always send negative emails.
New employees are left with one other person on shift by themselves with a long list of duties to complete.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees and appreciate them for all the work they do.
